Jemma screeched and hissed as her tallwalker kicked her out of their nest again. Her collar choked her as she let out an angry yowl of protest. This was the 6th time this quarter moon. She hated the way that they treated her. Her sister, who lived next door, was treated very well. She was fed yummy chicken dinners and Brushed every day until her pelt was shiny. She had a nice collar that was put on loosely and that was comfortable. Jemma, on the other hand, was fed only when her tallwalkers felt like it, and when she was fed, it was the gross cheap cat food. She was never brushed, and usually got thrown into the deeper mud puddles, where her pelt got so muddy she couldn't clean it. Her collar was put on so thight that it was hard to breathe, and once she had almost choked.
Just then, her sister, Sapphira, climbed over the fence to say hello. "Hi Jemma!" She said cheerfully. "Hi." Jemma replied grumpily. "What's wrong? You sound sad." Sapphira asked. "This is the 6th time this quarter moon that they have thrown me out, I haven't been fed since yesterday, and I'm so dirty I can't wash myself!" Jemma cried. Sapphira started to groom her, but stopped when she got a mouthful of dirt.
Then, Finn, an old cat who claimed he had many adventures when he was younger, crawled under the fence. He looked a Jemma, glanced at Sapphira, and said, "Well Jemma, I see that you have gotten yourself into a puddle of mud!" "Actually, her tallwalkers did it." Sapphira replied. "Well, in my day, Tallwalkers had enough sense to keep their cats indoors or out, not both." he meowed. "You're just saying that." Sapphira hissed. "Am not, they really did" he protested. "Are too!" She yowled. "Am not!" "Are-"Hey! Stop it! Finn, you are old enough to know not to fight. Sapphira, Why are you quarreling with an elder? I would think that both of you would know better." Jemma hissed angrily. "Finn looked at Sapphira. "She's right. We're smart emough not to fight." he said. "I'm sorry Finn. I shouldn't have yelled at you." I forgive you, young'n" Finn said apologetically. He looked at Jemma and said, "If your tallwalkers are treatin' you that bad and your lookin' for a new home, there are some cats in the forest, I think they're called 'clans' or somethin', but they're lookin' for members. Maybe they'd accept you." "Thanks Finn. I'll think about it." Just then, Sapphira's tallwalker yowled something. "Sorry, I have to go." Sapphira said, and then disappeared over the fence. Finn looked and Jemma. "I think you'd be better off with them forest cats." he said, and then crawled under the fence over to his garden.
All of the sudden, it started to rain. Jemma hid under a bush to avoid getting too wet. She thought about what Finn had said. What were forest cats? Why were they looking for members of these 'clans'? Was it hard to live in the forest? Would they accept her? Was it better than living here? Jemma's mind was buzzing with questions. Slowly she fell into a deep sleep.
She awoke in a grassy field surrounded by forest on three sides. "Where am I?" She wondered. Then, she saw far off, four cats sitting together. They were each sitting on a big boulder. They were talking about something. Jemma padded closer to hear. "There needs to be peace." the black cat with a white line on his forehead was saying. "I agree with Lightning." A blue-gray she cat said. "Yes Water. There will be peace in the clans. An orange tabby tom said. Lightning looked at the dark gray tom. "There will be peace, Shade. The clans will not fight unless there is a reason to." "........Alright, but I will lead my clan and we will be strong in battle." Shade replied. "Then it is decided. My clan will be Lightningclan. We will hunt in the undergrowth." Lightning said. "My clan will be Waterclan. We will hunt in the wetlands." Water said. My clan will be Grassclan. We will hunt in the open moors." the tabby said. "My clan will be Shadeclan. We will hunt among the tall pines. We will be the strongest clan!" Shade yowled. "Now, let us go and gather loners, kittypets, and rouges for our clans. when we have gathered enough cats, we will meet here at Tallrocks with our new clans at the next full moon, a moon from now." Water meowed. "This gathering is now over!" Lightning yowled. The cats separated, and the dream faded.
Jemma woke up to find that it was nearly midday and that she should go and check her bowl for food and water. As she padded up to her nest Finn jumped out from behind a bush saying, "Surrender or die, you foul bug, for I will defeat you! Rahh!" "Hi Finn!" Jemma said cheerfully. He looked up from the bug. "Oh, hi Jemma. I didn't see you there. What have you decided about those 'clans'?" "I don't know yet, Finn." "Ok. See you later. Hopefully with an answer, right?" "Right." "Ok, I'll be on my way!" Finn turned around and slid through his hole, forgetting about the bug. Jemma lokked at her food bowl. Nothing, as usual. Just then, her talwalker opened the door and kicked her, saying "Scram cat!" Then she decided. She was going to join these 'forest cats'. She jumped over the fence to tell Finn.

Welcome to the Beginning
Hello! I am the author of the wonderful books that you will read. I created this blog so you could see something that most people don't get to see, a writer in action. You know, there are a lot of great books out there that don't get published. There are reasons too. Sometimes the publisher does not like the book and decides not to publish it. Other times the author is too scared to send it to a publisher. What I am trying to say is that there are a lot of awesome stories out there that nobody sees. That is why I am going to post my cool stories here so you can read them. Welcome to the beginning of a new story, and you're in it! It may last forever, there is no telling when it will end. I will post characters, books, and author tips to help you write your own books. Just remember to have fun reading!
